In Kyiv, a number of historical buildings of cultural and educational institutions in the center of the capital were damaged as a result of rocket fire by the Russian occupiers. The Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, told about this on the air of the national TV-marathon, “Komentary” reports. According to him, in the capital, experts from the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, other departments and the capital’s mayor’s office have already started work on repairing the damage that the Khanenko Museum suffered the most. “Both the Philharmonic Hall and the Shevchenko Museum were hit. The most important thing is that this entire district around Shevchenko Park are a historical buildings. Putin’s so-called “high-precision missiles” hit first the playground, and then the in crossroad of streets that have nothing to do with any buildings of critical infrastructure. Those objects don’t have infrastructure or military facilities. This fact once again proves the barbarism of these people,” said Tkachenko.
The Minister of Culture of Ukraine noted that a Russian rockets also hit Volodymyr Hill. “This is Volodymyr the Baptist. This is what they (the occupiers, Ed. note) emphasize, what modern Russia stands for. There is nothing holy for ocupants.

The day before, Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko presented photos and videos of cultural objects in the center of Kyiv damaged by rocket attacks. As a result of the attacing of the capital, the National Philharmonic Hall, the Khanenko Museum, the Central Council Building, the T. Shevchenko Museums, the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv, the Kyiv Art Gallery, the Mykola Bazhan and Pavlo Tychyna Apartment Museums, and a number of other institutions were damaged. The Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko, Institute of Archeography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Scientific Library named after Maksymovich.
