The modern technology of designing from the stoppage of laser scanning allows creating a spacious model of the spore with the greatest accuracy, and the BIM technology – to document all aspects and nuances of the memo, including with the interiors.
The events of recent months do not leave any doubts of the fact that Ukraine is doomed to live under the constant risk of aggression and bombing by the Russian Federation. For more than 400 years, this aggressive country has aimed to destroy everything Ukrainian – the nation, the people, the identity, the state. In this way, the development and protection of national culture becomes a program task of modern Ukrainian society.
Ukrainian semantics take a worthy place in the world cultural heritage – these are musical, artistic, literary works, etc.
Historical and architectural monuments are not the last place here, but those objects are currently at risk of being destroyed by the Moscow horde.
Regardless of location, because barbarians armed with rockets roam the entire territory of Ukraine. As of September 1, 2022, almost 500 historical and architectural monuments have already been destroyed, and even more have been damaged.
Above mentioned force us to look for the ways, if not to protect, then at least to preserve the performance of those objects and buildings for the purpose of further restoration.
The achievements of modern science allows this to be done – modern design technology using laser scanning allows to create a spatial model of the building with the highest accuracy, and Building Information Modeling technology allows us to document all aspects and nuances of the monuments/buildings with the highest accuracy, including interiors, paintings, furniture and accessories. Fixing and documenting the authentic appearance of historical and architectural monuments using laser scanning and creating building information models has become more relevant than in any other European country.
The VIM technology is well known, even in the field of protection of historical and architectural objects, there is a special term – Historical VIM (N-VIM), which is described in numerous publications and realised in practice. For example, during the restoration of the medieval bridge of Azzone Visconti in Lecco (Italy), etc. This technology is also used in the restoration of the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral after the fire, laser scanning data processed by Ukrainian specialists, who was invited.
A number of specialists (with the participation of the authors of the publication) created the “Foundation Ukrainian Europe MMXXII” charity fund, which undertook direct work in this direction. A computer model of the structure of databases and libraries of the repository/storage is urgently being developed. Currently, laser scanning with the formation of a “cloud of points” is the main method for documenting buildings. The creation of historical and architectural information models of historical and architectural monuments/objects begins. These models will be the basement of the created database of historical and architectural monuments of Ukraine, the so-called Repository, Heritage data storage.
The National Historical and Architectural Repository of Ukraine (NIARU) is a database of libraries created on the basis of cloud technologies, which will store comprehensive data on historical and architectural objects, which will allow monitoring their maintenance and authentic restoration in case of damage or destruction.
This is the contribution of scientists who do not directly participate frontline war, but save and preserve of the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
