An expert group on the protection, preservation and restoration of cultural heritage will be created in Ukraine. This was announced at the international scientific and practical conference “Cultural heritage in wartime: protection, preservation and restoration”, which became a platform for sharing the experience of domestic and international experts who researched the issue of protecting immovable cultural heritage and cultural values in wartime.

It was decided to create an expert working group on the protection, preservation, and restoration of cultural heritage, which will include experts in the field of cultural heritage protection, human rights defenders, architects, restorers, archaeologists, and public representatives.

The organizers of the conference were the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the KMDA, KNMTC and NGO “Alliance of Restorers of Historical Buildings of Ukraine”.

According to Kateryna Chuyeva, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, who became one of the speakers at the conference, about 1,000 objects of cultural heritage and cultural institutions, some of which are located in ordinary houses, were damaged in the regions.
