The old house of the 1880s, which housed the Bakhmut city center for children and youth, burned down after russian shelling .
At the beginning of its history, the building served business, and then – education and children. It was a decoration of the city center, a local monument of architecture and history.
The fact that the building at Myru Street in Bakhmut was burned to the ground as a result of the shelling of the russian army was reported to Free Radio by a representative of the Bakhmut police Pavlo Diachenko.
“This building burned out as a result of shelling. You can’t even imagine what Bakhmut looks like now, at home, even the center. There is hell. You come and see what is “fresh” and what is not “fresh” [of the buildings destroyed by shelling and fires], and there is no understanding anymore,” says a police representative.
Before the full-scale invasion, the Bakhmut City Center for Children and Youth worked here: 1084 children were engaged in 72 different groups in 26 circles. In particular, children learned the basics of journalism, the Modi Yun fashion theater, preschool education groups for children, skill circles, the Small Academy of Sciences, etc. worked. Creative competitions and intellectual competitions of schoolchildren were often held on the stage of the Bakhmut City Center for Children and Youth.
The photo of the building destroyed by fire was published by the local Telegram channel “Bakhmut Bright City”. (Бахмут Яркий город) The facade of the building is sooty and the roof is destroyed by fire – the sky is visible through the windows. Ceilings between floors burned out and collapsed.
